Pedometer CW-701 The CW-701 is a major upgrade from the reliable old SW-701 made by Yamax. As always, the Japanese engineering and manufacturing expertise that go into every Yamax unit are evident. Evident too, is their yen (pun intended) for advanced walking research.
The Yamax Digi Walker CW-701 is slightly larger and heavier than the older generation, because it adds a metal belt clip in place of the plastic one, it boasts a larger, dual-line display, and has more brainpower for better accuracy.
This baby has two additional levels of memory. First is the daily memory that counts your steps done most recently. That is standard issue on all pedometers. It's basic step counting.
Then, the Digi-Walker CW-701 has a 7-day memory, which allows you to go back and see the steps, distance, activity time and calorie burn by day for the past seven days.
Finally, you are also keeping a weekly memory of steps, distance, time, and calories burned for the past two weeks (as weekly totals).
There is no other pedometer I know of with this type of sophisticated memory function.
The Yamax CW-701 also includes the following features displayed (did I mention this yet?) on two lines for easier reading of a greater quantity of information:
Steps
Distance (in miles - you set your stride length for best accuracy). Measures to the hundredth of a mile, or 58 feet.
Activity Time (only counts time when the pedometer detects activity)
Calories burned (you set your weight for best accuracy)
Clock - see the current time
Two week and Seven Day memory functions
Counts to 999,999 steps on the six-digit display
The Yamax Digi-Walker CW-701 is truly the next generation of pedometers, and it comes from the grandaddy of all pedometer companies: Yamax.
